Biography:
With over twenty years experience in audio in recording studios, live sound reinforcement (monitor eng and FOH), location sound and as Sound/Designer for film and television, I am familiar with a broad range of mixers, recorders, microphones, outboard equipment and software. I have used and set up projectors for training workshops and delivered lectures on film sound.
I have recorded and mixed around thirty UK dance chart top 30’s and a couple of national hits. I have co-produced the recording of four plays one of which called ‘Amazons’ was nominated for a Grammy. I have worked on loads of animation series, some short films and a feature length film, a Chinese comedy. A few of these projects have won BAFTA’s and other major awards. Some examples : 64 Zoo Lane and Pablo the Little Red Fox; millimages, Crapstone Villas; spitting Images, Henry’s Cat. The Little Reindeer; channel 4.
As well as working in audio I am a videographer/ DV film maker, mostly working underwater filming scuba divers and then producing shorts with music and titles. I have attended a couple of workshops on studio lighting techniques and have been introduced to standard 3 point lighting, gobo projection, back lighting and kickers.
Profficient with Logic Platinum and familiar with a large assortment of other sound and video software including Pro-Tools, I-movie, Final Cut, Adobe Premier, etc and I pick up new programs easily. I am technically minded and experienced in faults finding, soldering and studio installation and maintenance. I am PC and Mac literate and am familiar with networking
I work well as part of a team and under my own initiative and I work well under pressure. I am reliable and can work away from home for extended periods; am physically fit and strong so lifting is not a problem and I have no fear of working at height or in confined spaces.

1987 - 1988 : In house engineer at Times Square Studio, Chiswick, London.

1988 – 1993 : Manager and engineer at Times Square Studio, Live sound for Ragga Twins, Peter Bouncer, Rat Pack:: from the Octagon in Bangor to The Albert Hall.

1993 – 1996 : Freelance sound engineer mostly working from Von’s studio, Holloway; Protocol and Camden Loch studios, Live sound for Leee John.

1996 – Present : Freelance sound engineer/designer,* mostly mixing at my home/mobile studio on music and sound for animation and film, 64 Zoo lane (3 series), Engy Benjy. Captain Abercrombie,*Pablo the Little Red Fox.

Live sound for Council events in Birmingham, Rainbow Warehouse, Skanking Dub Beats Sound System. Sound tech for Brumbeat band ,The Rockin’ Berries’.

2001 – 2004 : Videographer/ Digital video film maker. I spent a few diving seasons in Asia filming, editing and producing 12 minute souvenir films everyday, mostly underwater in the Gulf of Thailand.

2006/2007 - Sound Design and music on three promotional videos for China Formula Racing, a Shanghai based company introducing car competitions to the Chinese domestic market. HYPERLINK "http://www.cfracing.cn/" http://www.cfracing.cn/

2006/2007 – Location sound, post and sound design on a short film by Mike Bell called ‘Hallowed Ground’.

2007 – Location sound on 4 shorts and sound design/mix and music on a short horror film ‘Long Way Home’ soon to be released to festivals.

2007 – 2008 – Touring with The Rockin Berries and mixing for various acts inc..
Skankin’ Dub Beats sound system, Macabe, Urban Dub and Dudley council Concert Hall and town hall’s events.


2008- 2009 - Pre & post sound on a sci-fi feature film by Huw Bowen, ‘Schrodinger’s Girl”, made in the midlan
