I've gotten good results with a Steadicam Merlin flying a DSLR.

And that's without years of steadicam experience under my belt :P

Nothing wrong with adapters, I don't own any Canon mount lenses.

One for each lens is an easier option and Fotodiox make a good adapter (Although I have to say many 10e ones on ebay do the job...

If you get them in Nikon mount and use adapters, you can use them on more camera bodies. The Nikon mount have manual control of the aperture unlike the Canon mount which is electronically controlled...
