    Default Republic of Telly

I'm working on the RTE 2 TV Show Republic of Telly and here's some of the sketches I was involved in. I work in various positions on the sketches: writing / directing / producing / camera / editing. Though maybe not all of these on any one sketch.

    Here's some of them:

Whelan and Dealin - # 4 Gold - Republic of Telly

Republic of Telly - Damo & Ivor: Driving Lessons

This one has over 150,000 views and was trending on Youtube for almost two weeks!

Not all the sketches go up on Youtube but you can watch the full show on the RTE Player (not geo-blocked) or Monday nights RTE 2 at 9:50pm.

Fair play Jason. Congrats on the new gig.

Oh, send Bernard my regards. We did some sketches years ago, funny stuff!

Nice one, Jason. I'd seen the first one on TV alright. Funny stuff. Just watched the second there now, and it is just as good.

How long did they take to shoot? And what size crew?

Crew is very small - sometimes just me and a runner. Shoots are meant to be one day max as the tiny budgets don't allow for more but occasionally do need a second day.

That's brilliant work esp with such limited resources. Ever think of doing a sketch show?

We do have the benefit of the RTE props and wardrobe depts and a "researcher" who is really more of a producer/production manager but the turn around time is very tight.

Think I'd be more interested in a sit-com than a sketch show as the pace of the jokes is so relentless on a sketch show. That said if I was to do a sit-com now the density and rate of jokes would have to be faster from what I've learned on this show.

Really nice work Jason. They must have been a lot of fun to shoot. You got real good performances from your actors too...

    Nice one!

This is one I'm especially proud of. Running around Dublin with an "orchestra" pranking people. Lots of movie theme tunes too.
