This is just a little ad myself and two friends made with a new camcorder to test it out. It took us half a Sunday to come up with the idea, shoot it and do an offline. Then another couple of hours the next day to online with audio mix.
All very basic, but have a goo at the Fairyconomy Ad and let us know what you think. ![]() |

Ha ha ha.
I like it. Nice idea. I particularly liked the 'fall'. It was very well done. I've watched it a few times and can't stop laughing at it. A nice slogan at the end as well. Well done Brian. How long ago did you shoot it? What camcorder was it?

Cheers John. It was about a month ago. Maeve is a pretty good actress and we did the fall in about three takes and in each she was excellent.
The camcorder is a mini-DV of some sort, not sure of the brand (I'll find out), but it's a nifty little thing. The kitchen was well lit from the main window and we used the overhead light for one part of it, but in the compression to YouTube I lost a lot of definition in the darker areas, especially because of the dark clothing. Aaron was telling me that H.264 is the best compression for YouTube and I'm sure there's a thread around here somewhere that deals with the subject, so more to learn (as always!) |

Yeah I guessed the darkness had something to do with youtube. Although I only really noticed it in the first and fifth shots.
I'm looking into camcorders for the last while now - just something to mess around with and do little pieces like that. Although on my never-ending dwindling budget I never get around to getting one. Good work dude.
