Default County Council Funding??

Hi all

I was wondering if anyone knew anything about County Council funding for short films. Thought I saw someone mentioning getting some very low-level funding maybe around €300 or so, after being turned down for Filmbase funding. Think they might have made mention of getting some money from Galway County Council and some from Dublin County Council.

Basically I'm asking does anyone know anything about this or even better have any experience?

Cheers

I know that Galway County Council have a funding scheme every year where they give around 1,000 euro to a filmmaker living in Galway county but outside Galway city.

I applied in 2004 but didn't get it.

Not sure about Dublin County Council but I think they have a similar scheme. Aidan Beatty may have got some money from Dublin County Council for his latest short Through the Trees which is showing at the Cork Film Festival. He writes for Film Ireland every so often.
