The Line up for both nights will be basically the same, with some slight local variations. The Dublin event is €5 at 8 in 4 Dame Lane, and the Belfast event will be £3 at 8.30 in Queens SU. Check the blurb: Future Shorts has gone all romantic on you this February with a beautiful collection of short films about love. And sex. Check out some intriguing 'chair pornography' in ROOF SEX by cult director PES, gasp as Lev Yilmaz gives the male take on the human condition, and stare in awe at the visual feast that is 'Papillon de l'Amour' We're also really excited to host some of the work from Dogmedia Productions. This rambunctious, Dublin-based group of filmmakers are renowned for their adventurous, quirky and deliciously absurd work. Gary Bermingham and Andy Travers will introduce 'The Day it Rained Sweets' and 'Ringing in Sick'. PROGRAMME OF FILMS PSYCHE Dir. Aurelien Badin / France / 2005 In an old shop, an abandoned mannequin falls in love with its reflection in the window. THE TOUGHEST GIRL IN THE WORLD Dir. Nicola Mills / UK / 2006 A summer by the seaside. A young bully struggles to accept her femininity. A PATH OF TEARS Dir. Sujin Jo / South Korea / 2005 A beautifully sorrowful animation about a break up. PAPILLON D'AMOUR Dir. TALES OF MERE EXISTENCE Dir: Lev Yilmaz / USA / 2005 Another collection of hilarious tales from Lev illuminating emotions from jealousy to horniness SHE LOVES ME, SHE LOVES ME NOT Dir. Special guests in Dublin this month Dog Media will be talking about their work and screening: THE DAY IT RAINED SWEETS Dir. Dogmedia / IRL 'The Day it Rained Sweets' is a very contentious film. Imagine you're 6 and sweets just fell out of the sky before your eyes.Well that's what 'Davy the Bear' and his chums did for the children of St.Canices BNS school during their little break on a Wednesday morning. However, Davy and Co. run into a spot of bother with the strong-arm of the Law. RINGING IN SICK Dir. Dogmedia / IRL Four resourceful humans test the tolerance levels of four human resource managers by constantly failing to show up for work after being offered a job. The aim... To see who can hold onto their job the longest without ever working a day. The process... Ring work every morning explaining ones absence. The result... Imaginative excuses, irate employers and guaranteed sackings. |
